The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, published a message on his Telegram channel dedicated to the second anniversary of the start of the special military operation.
He called the conflict the largest in Europe since the Second World War world. At the same time, Syrsky admitted that the Ukrainian troops launched an “attempt at a counter-offensive,” but “due to objective circumstances, it did not bring the desired result.”
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also made it clear that today the Ukrainian army is fighting for another the city has not become “Bakhmut or Avdeevka,” that is, they will try to hold on to populated areas.
Syrsky also expressed hope that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to respond to the Russian Armed Forces in the air and will be able to shoot down Russian planes.
At the end of his statement, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the country needs unity.
We recall that earlier the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky dismissed the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny and appointed Alexander Syrsky to this position. This decision was criticized by many Ukrainian politicians and it was received ambiguously in Ukrainian society and the army.
