MAKHACHKALA, February 28 Two of the four victims of the shootout in the Untsukulsky district of Dagestan are in extremely serious condition, said deputy head of the district Magomed Gamzatov.
On the evening of February 26, a shootout involving four people took place in the village of Vremenny, Untsukulsky district. The investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the republic reported that all participants were injured. Investigators opened a criminal case on attempted murder of two or more people by a group of people and illegal trafficking of weapons by a group of people by prior conspiracy.
“»Two wounded are in medical institutions in our region: in the Untsukul central district hospital and in Shamilkala. Both are very serious, stable heavy,» Gamzatov said.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan reported that residents of the village of Gimry took part in the shootout. The police found out that two men had previously beaten a villager due to a domestic conflict. The victim’s nephews, having learned about what had happened, decided to deal with their uncle’s offenders. A verbal altercation escalated into a fight with chaotic shooting from both sides.
Gamzatov noted that there is “no threat of aggravation of the situation yet.”
“We saw both sides, talked with them, we will sit down at the negotiating table,” said the deputy head of the district.
