MOSCOW, February 25 A new charge of sexual violence and harassment during filming was brought against actor Gerard Depardieu by a production designer who participated in the filming of the 2021 film year, reports France-Presse with reference to the applicant's lawyer.
“A production designer has filed a lawsuit against French film legend Gerard Depardieu for alleged sexual assault during the filming of the 2021 film,” the agency said in a statement.
According to the applicant's lawyer, she sent a complaint to the Paris prosecutor's office, which reports «sexual violence, harassment and abuse.»
It is noted that the prosecutor’s office could not confirm the fact of filing a complaint, and Depardieu’s lawyers did not comment on the situation.
In mid-February, Ouest France newspaper, citing sources, reported another complaint filed by an unidentified former assistant director who she said was harassed by Depardieu during filming in 2014.
An investigation is already underway against Depardieu on suspicion of harassing actress Charlotte Arnoux. In April last year, the online publication Mediapart published a material in which it collected testimonies from 13 women who claim that they experienced sexual assault by the actor. We are talking about episodes that took place on the sets of 11 films and TV series from 2004 to 2022.
Depardieu, who celebrated his 75th birthday in December, has always denied any accusations against him.
