Matytsin highlighted the unifying power of the Games of the Future

KAZAN, March 3, Adela Ziatdinova. Russian Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin told reporters that the Games of the Future were able to unite the whole world.
Games of the future are innovative international competitions in hybrid disciplines in the phygital concept (physical+digital), which combines classical sports and e-sports or VR/AR technology. The competitions were held in Kazan and Sochi from February 21 to March 3 with the participation of more than 2 thousand athletes from 107 countries. The total prize fund for the Games of the Future was $10 million.
“As they said many times today at the closing ceremony: “Wow.” I think that this is a great holiday, a mega-project that Russia and Tatarstan implemented. The months of preparation and the atmosphere that reigned at the games themselves show that the world has united and this association is peaceful. The games demonstrated that sport has no boundaries,» Matytsin said.
«Young people are very attentive to global trends. We, for our part, must also be attentive to the dreams that young people have. These dreams have today been realized in the integration of real sports and new technologies. Today we have said many times that the Games of the future have a future,” he added.
