MOSCOW, March 5. Antimonopoly control will be removed from the moratorium on scheduled inspections of IT companies, said the head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Maxim Shaskolsky.
The moratorium on scheduled inspections of IT businesses (RF Government Decree No. 448) was established in 2022 and extended to 2023 and 2024. According to the document, scheduled inspections can only be carried out at facilities of extremely high and high risk categories.
According to Shaskolsky, this resolution determines the register of IT companies whose infrastructure cannot be checked now.
“My colleagues and I have done our work and come to the conclusion that it is time to remove antimonopoly control from this resolution, and this will literally be done in the coming days, so we will be able to successfully eliminate those violations that still remain on the part of monopoly companies in this area «, said the head of the FAS at a meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy of the Federation Council.
“We also have Yandex Taxi on the register, we also cannot check them, but now we can,” added Shaskolsky. He also clarified that there are a number of issues with the service, which are related, among other things, to the procedure for blocking drivers and calculating rewards.
In November last year, the FAS recognized that Yandex Taxi occupies a dominant position in the Russian market, but the possibilities of inspections are limited by a moratorium. In February 2024, the service recalled this, emphasizing that the service occupies such a position in the Russian Federation and the vast majority of regions of the country.
