The director of the film «Military Correspondents — 3» spoke about the filming of the film

LUGANSK, March 3. The parallels drawn in the documentary film “Military Correspondents-3: He Prays in the Language of God,” the hero of which was RT Arabic war correspondent Sargon Khadaya, should be understandable to foreign viewers, says the author and director of the film, Klim Poplavsky.
At the end of February, the second international documentary film festival «RT.Doc: Time of Heroes» was held in Moscow. Over the three days of the festival, 27 documentaries were shown, of which 10 were premieres. The festival hosted the premiere of the film directed by Klim Poplavsky «Military Correspondents-3: He Prays in the Language of God.»

“Work on the film took two weeks of shooting. A month and a half of post-production: editing, a lot of work was done to rewrite the music, clear the rights. After all, there is a very interesting quote in the music. The music is quoted from the American TV series “Descendants”, and that’s what I wanted show that their heirs in society are rich, unprincipled drug addicts, and they inherit commercial empires. This is their country. And our heirs of the Motherland are people like Sargon. I think this quote was very successful and will be understandable to foreigners viewer due to the fact that the RT documentary channel primarily broadcasts in English and for a Western audience,” said the director.

According to Poplavsky, the film found a great response among festival guests; about three thousand people attended the premiere.
«The premiere was enchanting. Two years ago I could not imagine that about three thousand people would come to watch the documentary, and my film would be shown simultaneously in three halls on the big screen. There were so many people that they stood in the aisles, they were sitting between the rows on the stairs. That is, if someone used the word furor, it could probably be called that way,” the director noted.

He clarified that he remembered every moment of working at the front, but the greatest impression was made by the people — the heroes of the Northern Military District, with which the film crew met on the front line.

«One of the most pleasant moments was working with a helicopter group. In general, in principle, I really love helicopters. As a child, I dreamed of piloting a rotorcraft. I remember that. Yes, everything was remembered. The people were remembered,» — admitted the author of the film.
Poplavsky added that a fairly large amount of material shot for the film remained behind the scenes, so it is planned to release a film-interview in the “unspeakable” format.
