Skoda has announced another new crossover: an alternative to the Karoq?

The electric SUV will be revealed next week. The brand itself has not yet provided details about the model, but judging by previous announcements, we are waiting for a meeting with the compact Elroq.

A few days ago, Skoda announced a small budget SUV for the Indian market. And now another completely new cross has been revealed, this time global: the model will be shown on March 15 as part of a press conference dedicated to the results of the brand’s work over the past year and clarification of plans for the near future. It has been announced that the “world” SUV will be electric, and this is all the official information for now.

Meanwhile, last year Skoda presented a separate schedule for the appearance of its new products, calculated until 2026. Moreover, then the brand even showed several cars in the form of “sculptures”. So, in that regard, the premiere of the Skoda Elroq electric crossover was scheduled for 2024: it will probably be declassified next week. However, it is not yet known for sure whether this will be a prototype or a serial SUV.

Be that as it may, the exterior will be designed in the new Modern Solid corporate style, which was first demonstrated on the Vision 7S concept. The main feature of this design is the vertical headlight units. In the teaser we also see a raised hood, a lot of diode “strokes” that combine the optics, and a glowing Skoda inscription instead of the usual emblem.

Skoda Elroq, revealed last year

Skoda Elroq will be slightly larger than the hydrocarbon Skoda Karoq — the length will be approximately 4.5 meters. By the way, in last year’s presentation the company itself called the upcoming SUV an electric alternative to the Karoq. There is no data on the filling yet.

After the Elroq, three more completely new electric Skodas should enter the market: in 2025, buyers will be offered a small SUV, which will be the cheapest in the “green” range, and in 2026 a station wagon and a flagship three-row SUV will appear. In addition, next year the Skoda Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe will be modernized — they will be updated in the same Modern Solid style.
