MOSCOW, March 19, Sergei Safronov. The Borodino Panorama Museum opens on Tuesday an exhibition dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the capture of Paris by Russian troops entitled “Rejoice, Moscow! In Paris Ross!” said museum director Vladimir Presnov in an interview.
Exactly 210 years ago, on March 19, 1814, Russian troops as part of the 6th anti-Napoleonic coalition took Paris by storm.
“»Of course, this anniversary date is included in the exhibition plans for 2024. The exhibition will open on March 19, 2024 and will be called “Rejoice, Moscow! “Ross is in Paris!” The title is based on a line from Pushkin’s poem “Memories in Tsarskoe Selo,” which he read at the Lyceum exam on January 20, 1815,” Presnov said.
According to him, this name quite accurately reflects the military-political situation that took shape after the capture of Paris in the spring of 1814: the Russian emperor had the opportunity to put into practice his ideas for the post-war structure of France and Europe, and the power of the Russian army served as a powerful argument for him ( during the second capture of Paris in 1815, the situation was already qualitatively different).
«The exhibition will feature items from the museum's collection and private collections. In particular, from the collection of collector Alexander Nikolaevich Vikhrov,» the director added.
