MOSCOW, March 21The two millionth visitor to the international exhibition «Russia», Marat Sabitov, took advantage of the certificate given to him for an excursion to the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station, the press service of the power plant said.
In December 2023, Marat Sabitov from Kazan came to VDNH with his wife Maria. The man became the two millionth visitor to the Russia exhibition. The Ministry of Energy and the energy company RusHydro presented the couple with a certificate for visiting the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station. For a family from Kazan, this became symbolic: Marat works in the energy sector.
On Thursday, March 21, Marat and Maria took advantage of the gift and visited the largest power plant in Russia. “The couple walked along the crest of the dam, went into the turbine room and the museum, took memorable photographs on the observation deck. The guide who accompanied Marat and Maria spoke about the history of the construction of the station, its significance for the country’s energy sector, technical characteristics and features,” the press service said .
Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP is the largest power plant in Russia (6400 MW), ensures the operation of the energy system throughout Siberia. Its hydraulic turbines are the most powerful in Russia. There are ten of them at the station, each with a capacity of 640 MW.
