LANIT-Integration (part of the LANIT group of companies) and PPK Unified Customer have completed the construction of a new building for the Tretyakov Gallery, located on Kadashevskaya embankment. The project team carried out extensive construction and engineering work. The immediate plans include the implementation of a complex of IT and multimedia solutions at the facility.
In record time, LANIT-Integration specialists “we managed to build a building with an area of more than 35 thousand square meters. m. In addition to exhibition halls with movable partitions for comfortable organization of space, the facility houses restoration workshops for painting, graphics, sculpture, as well as a scientific photo archive and a conference room. The architectural feature of the new building was a large atrium with a skylight — its appearance enhanced the natural lighting of the interiors inside.
The gallery will house advanced multimedia equipment taking into account museum specifics. It is planned to install information displays, interactive panels, tables and kiosks. A robot guide will be waiting for visitors in the entrance area and will tell them about the exhibitions. The exhibition and concert halls will be equipped with LED screens, sound equipment, digital PTZ cameras for recording internal and external events, as well as simultaneous translation systems and audio transmission to wireless portable receivers for the hearing impaired. The halls will have designated areas for mapping. Using projection equipment, it is planned to display 3D graphics on various volumetric objects for digital representations.
Mikhail Rossiev, project manager for the construction of the new building of the Tretyakov Gallery at LANIT-Integration: “The specialists of LANIT Integration and PPK Unified Customer demonstrated a high level of professionalism. Our experience in managing large IT projects helped us beat the construction deadlines and complete the project a year ahead of schedule. During the construction work, traditional approaches did not work: a new building had to be built quickly, with high quality, and this task had to be completed under a large number of unforeseen circumstances, such as a pandemic, disruption of supply chains, and withdrawal of equipment and materials suppliers from the market. Thanks to our experience in IT, and IT projects are characterized by a high degree of uncertainty and multifactorial nature, we were ready for a large-scale challenge and knew what to do.”
Karen Oganesyan, General Director PPK “Single Customer”: “The new building and the historical building of the museum complex are connected by a 56-meter pedestrian bridge, the key feature of which is stained glass glazing. First of all, it will be intended for transporting exhibits, paintings and museum equipment. After the opening of the building, visitors to the museum complex will also be able to use the passage to move comfortably from one building to another.”
The appearance of the building deserves special attention. The facades of the new building of the Tretyakov Gallery are decorated with reproductions of 34 paintings by Russian painters and are included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
