MOSCOW, April 7 More than 86% of households in Russia in 2024 will have access to high-speed Internet, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko as part of Runet Day at VDNKh.
«Within the framework of the national goal for digital transformation set by the president, this is already more than 86% — more than the plan — of households that have already received the opportunity to access broadband Internet,» Chernyshenko said.
He said that Russian President Vladimir Putin recently set the goal of improving the quality of Internet access services until 2030, providing high-speed access to it for 97% of households. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the remaining 11% will be the most difficult, but this task will be manageable.
In 2023, the Internet in Russia is available in 26 thousand remote sparsely populated areas with a population of up to 500 people. Also, during the pandemic, users were provided with free access to 371 Internet resources.
