GENICHESK, April 16 A court in Genichesk, Kherson region, fined a local resident 1.5 million rubles for attempting to give a bribe of 2 million rubles to a FSB officer , a representative of the Federal Security Service told reporters.
«The Genichi district court issued a verdict in a criminal case initiated on the basis of materials from the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Kherson region against a local resident involved in the commission of a crime under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 5 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «attempted bribery in “on an especially large scale.” At the end of September 2023, the convict attempted to bribe an employee of the regional FSB Directorate in an amount exceeding 2 million rubles for obviously illegal actions,” the department reported.
According to the FSB, with the help of a bribe, the defendant tried to stop the checks on her and return the counterfeit alcohol seized from her by law enforcement officers. The FSB officer, to whom she was going to bribe, warned management that he was being persuaded to commit a corruption crime; while trying to transfer money, the woman was detained.
It is reported that the defendant admitted guilt, taking this into account, the court sentenced her to a fine of 1.5 million rubles, the funds that were the subject of the bribe were confiscated to the state.
