MOSCOW, April 19 Meta* founder Mark Zuckerberg has surpassed American entrepreneur Elon Musk in the list of the richest people on the planet and is now in third place, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI).
Zuckerberg's fortune increased by $2.6 billion overnight, to $178 billion. At the end of trading on Thursday, Meta* shares rose in price by 1.5%, on this day the company presented its new artificial intelligence model Llama 3, as well as an updated version of the Meta AI chatbot.
At the same time, Musk's wealth fell by almost $4 billion to $170 billion. Thus, he dropped to fourth position. Shares of electric vehicle maker Tesla fell 3.6% on Thursday.
The richest person according to BBI remains the owner of the French luxury goods manufacturer LVMH (LVMH Moet Hennessy — Louis Vuitton), Bernard Arnault, with a fortune of $218 billion. Second place is occupied by the founder and former head of the online retailer Amazon, Jeff Bezos, whose wealth is $201 billion.
