The Chinese company Hozon Auto's lineup has expanded to include the mid-size five-seat crossover Neta L with a plug-in hybrid powertrain and a large electric range . Neta L freely quotes Li Auto crossovers with some design solutions and offers much more attractive prices than Li Auto.
Founded in 2014, Hozon Auto, operating under the Neta brand, was considered one of the most promising players in the NEV (New Energy Vehicle) segment of the Chinese car market, but has recently noticeably lost ground amid a price war imposed by competitors. In 2023, Hozon Auto sold 127,496 vehicles in China, which is 16.16% less than sales in 2022. In the first quarter of 2024, the Hozon Auto sales curve continued to bend: 14,969 cars were sold in the domestic market (-33.3% compared to sales in January-March 2023).

The front panel is almost the same as that of the Li L6 crossover that entered the market last week: a giant display consisting of two 15.6-inch screens is installed on it, shifted towards the passenger side. The front seats are equipped with many adjustments and massagers (the front passenger seat also has a retractable footrest), and between them there is a spacious 6.6-liter box refrigerator — another quote from the Li L6. Trunk volume — 583 l, with the rear seat backs folded — 1434 l.
Unlike other Hozon Auto models that debuted as electric vehicles, the Neta L enters the market with a plug-in hybrid powertrain sequential type: front-mounted 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a power of 91 hp. It works in generator mode, charges the battery and is not mechanically connected to the wheels. A single electric motor is installed on the rear axle and rotates the rear wheels, its maximum output is 231 hp. and 310 Nm.

The capacity of the traction battery on the basic version of Neta L, which costs 129,900 yuan (1.68 million rubles in translation at the current exchange rate), is 30 kWh, this crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.3 s, the maximum speed is 180 km/h. Cruising range on electric power is 220 km according to the CLTC cycle, in hybrid mode with a fully filled tank (50 l) — 1250 km.

More richly equipped versions have battery with a capacity of 40 kWh, they They can travel 310 km in electric mode, and 1,300 km in hybrid mode, but their acceleration dynamics are slightly worse — 8.2 seconds to “hundreds”, maximum speed is 180 km/h. In the top configuration, as in the pictures, Neta L will cost 159,900 yuan (2.06 million rubles). For comparison, let's say that the minimum price of the Li L6 in China is 249,800 yuan (3.22 million rubles), but the Li L6 is larger, more powerful, more solid and has all-wheel drive. After some time, a purely electric version of the Neta L crossover will also be offered in China.
The Neta brand is not officially represented in the Russian Federation at the moment, but its models are brought to our country by some gray dealers, so that Neta L will probably also soon appear occasionally on Russian roads.
