NIZHNY NOVGOROD, April 22 The head of Mordovia Artem Zdunov and the First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily Osmakov discussed the development of the industrial sector of the republic, the press service of the regional government reports.
“At the meeting in Moscow, they discussed the implementation of the project “2nd start-up complex” as part of the creation of a full-cycle optical fiber production. Construction of the second start-up complex of an optical fiber production plant in Saransk, focused on the production of our own blanks (preforms) for drawing optical fiber, planned for 2024-2026. The design of the facility is currently being carried out according to schedule,” the statement says.
The head of the republic noted that the implementation of the project within the framework of the approved roadmap is strategically important for the country — this will eliminate dependence on import supplies, reduce costs and increase the competitiveness of the products of Fiber Optic Systems JSC.
“The new plant will become part of our special economic zone “Sistema”. The facility is currently at the design stage,” Zdunov emphasized.
Also at the meeting they discussed the additional capitalization of the Industrial Development Fund of Mordovia and the procedure for providing subsidies to subjects in the industrial sector. It is noted that over two years, through the Industrial Development Funds, 18 investment projects received financing in the amount of 3.6 billion rubles. This year it is planned to increase the volume of support to 5.5 billion rubles.
