A Russian scientist has learned to control household appliances in a dream with the power of thought.

People will be able to use their sleep time profitably

Recently, Elon Musk announced the successful implantation of a neurochip into the human brain. With its help, a completely paralyzed man first learned to control the cursor of a computer mouse, and then was able to “press” a keyboard button with just the power of thought. The news caused a sensation in the scientific world. However, the American billionaire was not a pioneer in this field. The palm belongs to our compatriot, researcher from Novosibirsk, Mikhail Raduga, who became famous for the fact that he single-handedly drilled into his skull and implanted a chip in his brain. And now I’ve also learned how to control the smart home system in my sleep. MK contacted the scientist, and this is what he told us about his experiment.

For the first time, Mikhail Raduga became “sick” with this topic — dream management — at a young age. At the age of 16, he experienced a condition called sleep paralysis. Cataplexy occurs when falling asleep or suddenly waking up. At such moments, the muscles are completely paralyzed, the person cannot speak, but everything that happens to him seems very vivid and real. People often explain such conditions by allegedly being abducted by aliens. Mikhail experienced the same thing, he remembers how he soared above the bed and flew out the window, then there was a blackout. And in the morning he woke up in his room, as if nothing had happened.

Since then, he began to live a double life. During the day — an ordinary guy, at night — flying in an imaginary reality. Mikhail wrote his first book on how to control dreams and make out-of-body travel at the age of 20, 4 years later he began giving lectures, and at 30 he became seriously involved in science. Now Mikhail Raduga already has 15 books on this topic, he has a team of like-minded people, his own laboratory, 15 employees, serious scientific journals (mostly foreign) publish his articles.

He is often asked why he conducts such risky experiments , for example, when he implanted a chip in his brain. To this the scientist replies that his goal is to gain complete control over dreams.

“Imagine a disabled person who cannot move his arm or leg, but in his sleep everything will be available to him. Or take, for example, you and me. Don't you want to fly like children fly in their dreams? And erotic dreams — they can also be controlled. I'm not even talking about nightmares and insomnia. A person spends a third of his life sleeping. This means that people must learn to use this time profitably,” answers Mikhail.

According to him, during the last experiment, an experienced lucid dreamer slept in his laboratory, connected to two machines. One of the devices recorded the stages of sleep. The second read electrical impulses from the hands and face of the subject during dreams, and then converted this information into commands for a smart speaker.

It, in turn, was connected to a light bulb and an electric kettle, and also had a built-in radio. When a participant in the experiment found himself in the stage of lucid sleep, he tensed those muscles that were responsible for interacting with the Smart Home system. As a result, he managed to turn on and off the lights, radio and even boil water.

Mikhail Raduga admitted that when he and his colleagues in the laboratory drank tea boiled by a member of his team in a dream, he felt a taste of the future.< /p>

“In just a few years, such technologies will begin to blur the line between dreams and reality. Gradually, people will learn not only to control dreams, but also to use them for personal and everyday purposes,” he noted.

Earlier, startup employees led by Mikhail Raduga had already demonstrated real-time transmission of music and speech from dreams, controlled without leaving sleep, with a virtual electric car, and also tested a brain implant for controlling dreams.
