The large crossover eπ 008 from Dongfeng has been presented, we are waiting in Russia

The new three-row SUV received unusual solutions in the cabin. The model debuted in single-drive versions, but later the range may be expanded.

The eπ 008 crossover appeared in certification photographs back in February. Now the presentation of the new product has taken place — it was held as part of the Beijing Motor Show. Let us remind you that the eπ brand (aka Yipai) was created by the Dongfeng concern last year specifically for electrified cars. Well, the SUV became the second model of the brand: it joined the eπ 007 liftback.

In terms of its dimensions, the eπ 008 is close to the Exeed Sterra ET (in export markets, including Russia, this the cross will be sold under the Exlantix brand). The length of the “eight” is 5002 mm, width – 1972 mm, height – 1732 mm, wheelbase – 3025 mm.

The SUV received narrow headlights, which are also united by a luminous strip. LED elements are also integrated into the sleek nose. The rear lights are designed as a single block. Models are equipped with 20- or 21-inch wheels.

The eπ 008 crossover is currently presented exclusively with a six-seater interior. Inside there are separate screens for the instrument panel and multimedia system, a two-spoke steering wheel and a two-story tunnel. There is no climate control unit — all settings are integrated into the central tablet. Rear passengers have their own entertainment system display — it is attached to the ceiling. The second row seats have folding footrests.

But the main feature of the interior is the retractable “stand”: it is hidden under the armrest box, which is located between the front seats. At the top of this “cabinet” there is a compartment for small things, and at the end there is a pull-out refrigerator.

The eπ 008 SUV is available as a full-fledged electric car or a serial hybrid. An electric motor with a power of 272 hp is installed on the rear axle of the first modification, and the hybrid SUV installation includes a 1.5 petrol turbo engine (147 hp), which operates in generator mode. There are no other official details about the technology yet, but it is known that the power reserve of the electric version is 636 km according to the CLTC cycle, the total range of the hybrid is 1300 km. Meanwhile, the eπ 007 liftback also has an all-wheel drive option, so the crossover may also receive a 4WD version.

In China, they are already accepting orders for eπ 008. Preliminary prices range from 200,000 to 250,000 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 2.5 million — 3.14 million rubles at the current exchange rate. At home, the new product is expected to go on sale in the summer. It is possible that Dongfeng will subsequently introduce eπ models to the Russian market, since its electrified brands Voyah and M-Hero are represented here.
