TYUMEN, April 30 Five villages of the Abatsky district of the Tyumen region were flooded due to high water on the Ishim River, the head of the district Igor Vasiliev reported on the Telegram channel.
“This year, flood waters have brought a lot of troubles. 14 settlements have been cut off from the mainland, five villages are flooded with water. Dozens of houses and adjacent areas are flooded, power supply has been cut off in eight settlements. The fight against floods continues on the dams of the regional center and the federal road. Swift The water is rising in the Oshchepkovsky and Nazarovsky settlements,” Vasiliev wrote.
The water level in the Ishim River in Abatskoye continues to rise: at 6.00 Moscow time on Tuesday it reached 1221 centimeters, having added seven centimeters per day, and at 8.00 Moscow time it rose to 1222 centimeters. The level of the historical maximum flood of 2017 was exceeded by 74 centimeters. Tense flood conditions in the Abat region may persist until May 15.
The municipal administration previously said that 1,327 people were evacuated in the area, 730 of them in the village of Abatskoye. There are 187 people in five temporary accommodation centers, including 60 children.
A state of emergency due to flooding in the Tyumen region was introduced on April 8. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations as of Tuesday, 205 residential buildings, 523 country houses, 2,935 household plots, and 25 sections of roads were flooded in 36 settlements in the region. In total, more than 6 thousand people were evacuated in the region, 665 of them, including 231 children, in temporary accommodation centers.
