Most of England's population will go to the polls on May 2 for local and mayoral elections in many of England's largest cities.< /p>
There are 107 councils holding elections and results will begin to be tabulated after polls close on May 2.
About a third of councils are currently expected to make announcements on the night of May 2, and two thirds are expected to will be announced during the day on May 3. The remaining four are expected to be announced between May 4 and May 5.
Results for four of the 11 mayoral elections will be announced on May 3rd, with the remainder, including London and the West Midlands, announced on May 4th.
