The Trans-Caucasus Highway was closed to transport due to a rockfall

Due to a rockfall, the movement of all types of road transport along the Trans-Caucasus Highway is closed, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of North Ossetia reported.

On the section Buron — Northern Portal The Roki tunnel prohibits the movement of all types of cars in both directions from 20.30 Moscow time.

The highway is planned to be opened early on Sunday.

Transcam is the only road connecting South Ossetia with the Russian Federation. Traffic on the mountain highway is blocked from time to time. The reasons are snow drifts, avalanche danger, and rockfalls.
