Updated Cadillac Escalade: first images

Spy photos of a restyled American SUV with virtually no camouflage were recently published on the Internet, thanks to which we have the opportunity to assess the nature of the changes in appearance.

The full-size Escalade SUV dates back to 1998, when the first generation of the model was introduced, which was initially a slightly modified version of the GMC Yukon Denali. Already starting with the second generation, which appeared just three years later, the SUV acquired its own well-known face. Today the fifth generation Escalade is on the assembly line; its premiere took place at the beginning of 2020. The time for a planned restyling has already come, and we have at our disposal photographs of the SUV, which show all the appearance features of the updated model.

The main changes will be concentrated at the front: the SUV will receive a completely new front end, made in the style of the company's latest innovations. The narrow headlights will become even narrower, although now only LED strips of daytime running lights will be located there. The main headlight blocks will now be vertical and will take the place of the previous vertical LED lights. The radiator grille will remain virtually unchanged in shape, but will receive a new finish. The front bumper will also be updated due to the changed shape of the lower air intake and parts around it, as well as differently made reflectors along the edges. On the side, no significant changes are expected; at the rear, the update will only affect the bumper, which will receive a decorative trim of a new shape. It is worth noting that photo spies came across an SUV in the most powerful version with the V prefix, and its feature will be squared exhaust pipes instead of the round ones on the current model. In addition, the Escalade shown in the renderings is shown with the new 24-inch wheel design, as on the prototype.

Cadillac Escalade has a frame structure and with the current generation has abandoned the solid axle at the rear in favor of an independent suspension, which has made the interior more spacious in the rear. The interior, by the way, will also be updated: judging by the spy photos, there will be a new front panel with a full-width multimedia screen. It is not yet known whether the engine range of the SUV will change; the current Escalade is offered with a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter gasoline V8 or a 277-horsepower three-liter in-line turbodiesel, as well as a 691-horsepower compressor 6.2 V8 in the aforementioned Escalade-V version.

The premiere of the new product is expected in the coming weeks.
