A new addition is coming to the Avatr brand range from Changan: official photos of the new crossover

The Avatr brand is a joint project of Changan, battery manufacturer CATL and IT giant Huawei. The first-born was the stylish electric crossover Avatr 11, which entered the Chinese market in 2022. And last year, the SUV was joined by the no less spectacular “green” sedan Avatr 12. And now an expansion of the range has been announced — this is again an SUV, and it is believed that it will be cheaper than the Avatr 11. The brand itself has not yet revealed the name of the new product, local specialized media are predicting her name is Avatr 15.

The company photos show two camouflaged prototypes; they differ from each other in that one of the crossovers has cameras instead of mirrors. And so the appearance is made in the Avatr family style, its characteristic feature is the intricate head optics. The younger SUV will also get retractable door handles, embossed wheel arches, 22-inch wheels and lidar. Dimensions are not announced. The length of Avatr 11 is 4880 mm, the distance between the axles is 2975 mm.

No word yet on technology either. Chinese media write that the Avatr 15 will be offered not only as a full-fledged electric car, but also with a hybrid installation. In the second version, the internal combustion engine will probably operate exclusively in battery generator mode.

The purely electric Avatr 11 is available in two versions: the rear-wheel drive SUV has a 313-horsepower engine, the total output of the dual-engine all-wheel drive SUV is 578 hp. This model has a battery with a capacity of 90 or 116 kWh, a power reserve (depending on the version) — from 580 to 730 km on the CLTC cycle.
