The State Duma named professions that may disappear due to AI

MOSCOW, May 5. Due to the introduction of artificial intelligence, professions such as customer support specialists, administrators, and copywriters are at risk, believes Member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Anton Nemkin.
    «

“Russia is definitely not facing the problem of unemployment due to AI now. However, there are a number of professions that are still at potential risk. For example, these are customer service specialists. This applies to those companies to which most requests are repeated. In this regard, it is easy to build a solution algorithm for the most popular queries, thereby reducing the number of employees,” he said.

Also, as the deputy believes, the number of administrators may be reduced – “many companies are already implementing robotic systems at the reception, which are capable, for example, of answering calls and conducting full-fledged dialogues with clients.”

According to Nemkin, according to a recent sociological survey, at least 16% of citizens are worried that new technologies can provoke unemployment.
“AI is also useful for processing large amounts of data and forecasting, so it can compete with specialists in the field of analytics and research. The ability to generate texts on a given topic, the desired structure and volume makes AI a competitor for copywriters,” the interlocutor added.

At the same time, according to the parliamentarian, AI will not be able to replace humans in everything.
“At a minimum, one should not exclude the factor that many people simply do not want to interact with robotic systems – due to those or other beliefs, if there is an alternative, they would rather turn to a live specialist. In addition, AI still regularly makes mistakes, and therefore requires constant human control. The results of AI should always be subject to critical analysis by specialists,” he concluded.
