Twin of Renault Grand Kangoo: seven-seater “heeled” Nissan Townstar Evalia debuted

The model, which is the successor to the NV200, is intended for the European market. The new version is based on the long-wheelbase version of the Townstar.

Nissan introduced the closest relative of the Renault Kangoo – a van and passenger van called the Townstar – in September 2021. Initially, the “heel” debuted only with a standard wheelbase and traditional “filling”, later long-wheelbase versions appeared, as well as options with all-electric technology. Now the family has been expanded with the new seven-seater version of the Nissan Townstar Evalia.

The Evalia variant is a twin of the Renault Grand Kangoo, the current version of which debuted in September last year. This “heel” is based on the long-wheelbase version of the Nissan Townstar (L2). The distance between the axles of such a passenger van is 3100 mm, which is 384 mm more than the standard version (L1).

The model is offered with a seven-seater interior (trunk volume is about 500 liters), while the rear seats can be folded, extended and removed. So the Nissan Townstar Evalia can also be a five-seater or even a two-seater, and in the latter case the volume of the cargo compartment increases to an impressive 3750 liters.

The version with the Evalia addition has no visual differences from a regular passenger van. The front part has head optics that are rustic by today's standards, a large air intake integrated into the lower part of the bumper, as well as a hexagonal radiator grille (for versions with internal combustion engines), or a similar shape, but with a different design, a plug (and the port for charging the battery is located behind the brand logo in its center).

The seven-seater passenger van is offered with both a traditional internal combustion engine and an all-electric version ” In the first case, we are talking about a 1.3-liter gasoline turbo engine, its output is 130 hp. The “green” version is equipped with a 122-horsepower electric motor, its maximum torque is 245 Nm. This Nissan Townstar Evalia received a battery with a capacity of 45 kWh, the range of the van without recharging does not exceed 265 km. It takes 37 minutes to refill from 15 to 80%.

Meanwhile, a new product in demand on the European market was recently declassified: the presentation of the updated Nissan Qashqai took place in the middle of last month. During the restyling, the models significantly changed their appearance, adjusted the interior, but did not touch the hybrid technology.
