Maria Bagreeva spoke about the role of labor productivity in economic growth

MOSCOW, May 8. The national project “Labor Productivity” is becoming an important factor in economic growth and the formation of a supply economy, which helps improve the efficiency of modern business processes and creates conditions for the development of digitalization, automation and robotization of production, says the Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Development city Maria Bagreeva.
She announced this during the plenary session of the Day of National Priorities “Efficient and Competitive Economy” at the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia”.

According to her, today Moscow is the country’s largest economy, which forms a fifth of the economy Russia.
“The Moscow economy is characterized by rapid growth of high-tech industries, a high share of qualified and highly qualified personnel, and low unemployment. Moreover, almost all key sectors of the economy have large reserves for increasing labor productivity,” noted Bagreeva, whose words were quoted by the department’s press service .
The national project “Labor Productivity” is based on the principles of lean production. They help enterprises, without unnecessary investments, to improve their work as efficiently as possible, increase the efficiency of manual labor, as well as increase production volumes and direct more resources to their own development.
“Today, more than three hundred Moscow companies are participating in the national project, of which about two hundred enterprises are represented by manufacturing industries – this is almost a quarter of large and medium-sized industrial enterprises in Moscow. Thanks to the tools of the national project, manufacturing companies have increased labor productivity by an average of 40%,” explained the deputy mayor.< br />She emphasized that lean manufacturing technologies alone are not enough to achieve better results. Business understands this. Companies are directing the freed-up funds to digitalization, automation and robotization of production, thereby continuing to improve the efficiency of enterprises.

“And here the next step is training, retraining of personnel, improving their qualifications,” said Bagreeva.

It is planned that in the future, increasing labor productivity will lead to an increase in the number of industrial production in the capital participating in national project. In six years, changes may affect almost 80% of large and medium-sized industries in Moscow. In addition, companies from the fields of construction, transport, tourism, scientific research and development, housing and communal services and healthcare can also be involved in participating in the national project “Labor Productivity”.
Bagreeva emphasized that an important aspect will be the dissemination of the capital’s experience in other regions Russia. Thus, already now some manufacturers are using the developments gained through participation in the national project in regional branches of their own production facilities.
