The officially updated Cobalt has not yet been shown. It is possible that the four-door will change according to the model of the Brazilian model, which has long been discontinued from sale. As for the Chevrolet Lacetti, according to preliminary data, it was either one of the last, or even the final batch of Uzbek production.
UzAuto Motors, located in Uzbekistan, announced that it will soon begin production release of the updated Chevrolet Cobalt sedan. As noted by the manufacturer’s press service, the modernization will include “partial restyling of the car’s exterior.” There are no photos of such a four-door yet; they promise to reveal more details later.

The budget Chevrolet Cobalt has been produced in Uzbekistan since 2012. It is curious that at the end of 2016, pictures of a restyled four-door car caught at a local factory appeared on the Internet, but such a sedan never entered mass production. So the car in those photos looked like a modernized Brazilian-assembled model. The restyled South American sedan debuted in December 2015, and at the beginning of 2020, production of the model in Brazil was discontinued. Well, let us remind you that Cobalts were initially supplied to us under the native Chevrolet brand, then the sedan turned into the Ravon R4, and after the liquidation of the Ravon brand, it again put on a bow tie. Now the Chevrolet brand is not officially represented in the Russian Federation.

Be that as it may, if we assume that UzAuto will retain the design of the Brazilian updated Cobalt, then the sedan will receive headlights of a more familiar shape, a different radiator grille and bumpers, as well as elongated taillights. The technology of the reform will probably not be affected. In Uzbekistan, the previous four-door is equipped with a 1.5 naturally aspirated gasoline engine (106 hp), which is combined with a manual or automatic transmission. By the way, at the moment the Chevrolet Cobalt is not sold in the neighboring country – the model is not available on the Chevy consumer website.
Meanwhile, along with the announcement of the updated Cobalt, UzAuto Motors announced the start of accepting online orders for another sedan – the Chevrolet Lacetti. Apparently, this is either one of the last ones or the final batch. The fact is that, according to local media, the production of Lacetti in Uzbekistan is being completed. Today, May 8, 4,500 sedans were available for order – and all of them have already been “dismantled”! As the company noted, 99.9% of contracts were for individuals.

Full-fledged production of Lacetti in Uzbekistan has been carried out for 16 years (in the Russian Federation, the sedan at one time bore the name Gentra – under the Daewoo and Ravon brands). Under the hood of the four-door is a naturally aspirated 1.5 engine; the model is available with a manual or an automatic transmission. According to the brand’s website, in local currency, a Chevrolet Lacetti costs approximately 1,040,000 rubles.
