Callum Hudson-Odoi is one of the Premier League's best performers of the season as he faces former club Chelsea on Saturday with Nottingham Forest on the brink of survival.
Remarkably, he signed for just £3 million last September. Hudson-Odoi's influence this season makes a mockery of Forest's reputation for recruitment and spending.
It's a reputation they hate and, when you look closely, Forest's transfer business perhaps deserves more respect as they look to secure a third season in the top flight.
Hudson-Odoi, who was targeted by Munich four years ago £35m to Bayern Munich, Hudson-Odoi has given every penny at the City Ground since leaving Chelsea for a cut-rate price.
The England international has seven goals to his name this season. — including two in last weekend's crucial win over Sheffield United — and Forest will happily pay an extra £2m if he continues his scoring run.
Given Chelsea have spent more than billion pounds to sign contracts in accordance with the agreement. Forest's own Todd Boehly venture has gone unnoticed.
Forest points to a number of other players whose transfer prices have risen since arriving at the club.
Murillo, the Brazilian centre-back, may be is their biggest asset along with record signing Morgan Gibbs-White.

Signed for just £11.1 million from Corinthians, Murillo made just 13 league appearances before moving to the Premier League.

Forest estimates he is worth around £70 million on today's market. A modern centre-back with power and skill but a strong defensive instinct, Murillo is already on the radar of European heavyweights.
Although Arsenal and Liverpool have recently distanced themselves from offers this summer, Murillo is leaning towards to play in the Champions League over the next two years. He won't turn 22 until July.
Forest insist there are other smart players in their squad who don't get enough recognition.
Danilo, the Brazilian midfielder, has joined the team for just over a pound. 17 million from Palmeiras last January. Despite faltering mid-season, the 23-year-old has impressed in recent weeks under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Manchester United sold 22-year-old Anthony Elanga for an initial fee of 13.5 million last summer pounds sterling, and the striker's decision to move to the City Ground has borne fruit. Elanga currently has five goals and eight assists.
