MOSCOW, May 9The film “One Hundred Years Ahead,” based on the story of the same name by Kir Bulychev, earned more than 1 billion rubles at the Russian box office, according to data from the Unified Automated Information System (UAIS) of the Cinema Fund.
The film “One Hundred Years Ahead” directed by Alexander Andryushchenko was released in wide release in Russia on April 18.
«Total box office — 1,003,425 228 rubles,” says a message on the UAIS website.
The film became the seventh Russian release to gross over 1 billion rubles since the beginning of 2024. Previously, this result was achieved by the films “The Master and Margarita”, “Slave 2”, “Musicians of Bremen”, “The Flying Ship”, “Ice 3” and the cartoon “Three Heroes and the Navel of the Earth”.
The leading roles in the new film “One Hundred Years Ahead” were played by young actors Daria Vereshchagina and Mark Eidelstein. Alexander Petrov and Yura Borisov played the main villains, and Victoria Isakova and Konstantin Khabensky embodied the images of the parents of the main character Alisa Selezneva. Fyodor Bondarchuk, who also acted as the producer of the project, lent his voice to one of the characters in the film — the robot Werther.
The film is based on the story of the same name by Kir Bulychev. Unlike the 1985 film adaptation — the serial film «Guest from the Future» — the new film does not reproduce the events of the literary source, but reinterprets them in a contemporary context for today's audience.
According to the plot, the main characters live in different worlds: Kolya Gerasimov is in Moscow in 2024, Alisa Selezneva is a hundred years later and is trying to find her mother, whom she lost early. One day, Kolya accidentally ends up in the future and meets Alice, after which together they have to recapture the Universe from space pirates and restore the course of time.
