MOSCOW, May 12.< /strong> A teenager and a baby, injured as a result of shelling of a residential building in Belgorod, were hospitalized in the regional children's hospital, they are in moderate condition, the Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Russian Federation Maria Lvova-Belova reported in her Telegram channel.
“Regarding the tragic situation in Belgorod, we are in touch with the regional ombudsman for children’s rights, Galina Pyatykh. Special attention is focused on the fate of two children out of the 19 victims. They are a teenager and an infant. They were hospitalized in the regional children’s hospital and are in a state of moderate severity,” — said Lvova-Belova.
The Children's Ombudsman noted that she continues to monitor the situation. She emphasized that all necessary assistance to those injured during the shelling of Belgorod, including families with children, will be provided at temporary accommodation centers.
Earlier, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that Belgorod was subjected to massive shelling from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as a result of which the entire entrance to a ten-story building collapsed. Based on the fact of the shelling, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for a terrorist attack. 19 people were injured, including two children.
