MOSCOW, May 12. Footballers of Novorossiysk “Chernomorets” played in away to a draw with Volgar Astrakhan in the match of the 32nd round of the Russian First League championship.
The meeting, held in Astrakhan on Sunday, ended with the score 1:1. The guests opened the scoring in the 41st minute after Denis Fomin's strike, but the hosts were saved from defeat by Timur Zhamaletdinov's penalty goal in the 89th minute.
Chernomorets, which started the spring part of the season with three wins in a row, extended its winless streak to seven matches (five draws, two defeats). The Novorossiysk team scored 35 points and is in 14th place in the First League table, five points clear of the relegation zone. “Volgar” (28 points) is in 17th place, four points separate the Astrakhan team from the saving 15th line.
All matches of the tour begin with a minute of silence in memory of those killed during the Great Patriotic War.
