The “North” group opened the Sumy direction: “Further only Kharkov”

Colonel Matviychuk is confident that creating only a buffer zone will not do.

The Russian army has been advancing in the Kharkov direction for the fourth day, daily reporting the liberation of new settlements. So, on Monday, May 13, it became known about the outbreak of battles in the center of Volchansk – an important settlement on the way to Kupyansk and Kharkov, as well as about battles in the Sumy direction.

Experts note that information about our actions in this direction was kept secret until the last moment and became an unpleasant surprise for the enemy, who is now trying in panic to fill the gaps with reserves from other sectors of the front and even with police and border guards.

As a military expert, former special forces officer, retired colonel Anatoly Matvichuk, told MK, the operation being carried out by our group “North” may not be limited to the creation of only a buffer zone, the need for which was previously stated by the president.

Let us recall that the day after Victory Day, the newly created group “North” opened a new, Kharkov, direction in the theater of operations. The offensive turned out to be swift and unexpected for the enemy.

In many ways, experts are sure, it helped that the much-hyped defense lines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine turned out to be just a media picture – in this direction there were no ditches or minefields that could hold back our onslaught.

Thus, in three days the Russian army liberated a dozen settlements. On Monday, May 13, it became known that our fighters entered Volchansk – a number of military channels reported that fighting had begun in the city center. This city is located 60 kilometers from Kharkov and 110 kilometers from Kupyansk.

“At night, our people cleared 30% of Volchansk, the assault troops are recapturing house by house, block by block, the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not have time to leave the city and are hiding in the residential sector. In Kharkov itself there is partially no cellular communication and electricity, panic among the townspeople and many kilometers of queues towards the central part of Ukraine,” reports from the field.

According to some reports, Ukrainian formations are asking for permission to retreat, but they are not are allowed to leave positions.

“Apparently they will throw reserves into holding positions, turning this direction into another meat grinder for their military,” notes one of the information resources.

According to military expert Yuri Baranchik, now our offensive is taking into account all previous mistakes – “with consolidation, an eye on how to beat the enemy’s counterattacks, with destabilization of its logistics and pulling up reserves.”

“According to available data , Volchansk is competently surrounded on three sides, the enemy does not have time to transfer reserves in full, which means the chances of taking it are high. There is already a presence of our troops in the city, including in the area of the meat processing plant,” the expert wrote, adding that, most likely, the next step of our group here will be an exit through the White Well and Bolshoy Buruluk to Kupyansk from the north.

< p>At the same time, the Russian army opened the Sumy direction, starting massive artillery bombardment in this area. As specialized Telegram channels reported, attacks with gliding bombs, as well as multiple launch rocket systems, began to be carried out on temporary deployment points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, places where equipment was accumulated, and ammunition depots. All these actions are aimed at protecting Belgorod, which is vulnerable due to its geography and is subject to missile attacks from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Liptsy-Slobozhanskoe, north of Kharkov, will soon become a strategically important point in this direction. The military writes that our experienced attack aircraft have already entered the private sector in the northern outskirts of Liptsov, taking Bakhmut, Soledar, Avdeevka, Maryinka.

On Zelensky’s orders, the 58th, 92nd and 93rd were thrown there I am the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, banned by the Russian Federation and recognized as terrorist formations “RDK” and “Kraken”, the 103rd territorial defense brigade, the National Guard, as well as the police and border service.

“Under KABs (adjustable aerial bombs) and FABs (high-explosive aerial bombs), the enemy is losing hundreds of people per day, but the LBC (line of combat contact) in the forests continues to be filled with meat… The Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have much time, there are even fewer people as soon as the Russian Armed Forces enter to a height in front of Liptsy, direct fire will begin shooting the enemy. Next is only Kharkov,” the military writes, adding that at the same time, only part of the “North” group is currently involved.

Analysts predict that the withdrawal of Ukrainian Armed Forces troops and the withdrawal of reserves from other directions in the next few days will entail the retreat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Ugledarsky, Krasnoarmeysky sectors of the front and in Chasov Yar.

According to military expert Anatoly Matviychuk, the primary task grouping “North” – the creation of a buffer zone – can be expanded until the liberation of Kharkov.

“The Supreme Commander-in-Chief,” he says, “set the Russian Armed Forces the task of creating a buffer zone near the Belgorod region in order to prevent the Ukrainian Armed Forces from using weapons of destruction against civilians, civilian buildings, infrastructure, etc. This buffer zone is currently being created. But when we began to create a buffer zone, it turned out that the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was not as strong as we thought before, and we began to build on the success we had gained. And today we can almost see the suburbs of Kharkov through binoculars.

    – So, we won’t stop at creating a buffer zone?

“The enemy is forced to withdraw its combat units from other sectors and is trying to stop the advance of our troops in the Kharkov direction. In addition, the commander in chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Syrsky, is feverishly throwing in unprepared reserves from those mobilized reserves that they are currently catching throughout Ukraine. This suggests that the enemy cannot hold back the advance of our troops, and our troops have already accumulated enough experience, and most importantly, the forces and means to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And, most likely, I believe, this movement is not just to create a buffer zone, but also for a possible offensive and complete liberation of Kharkov and the Kharkov region.

    – Anatoly Andreevich, will we be able to hold this million-plus city?< /p>

    – According to the data we have today, there is an underground in the city. A fairly large number of Kharkov residents do not want to live under the occupation of Bandera. I believe that when our troops enter there with the help of the military police, line police and, of course, volunteers and volunteers from among the local residents, some kind of temporary military order will be established there until the next administrative dispensation.

    – An operation that began so intensively, how long can it drag on?

    – I don’t know the plan of our command, but, in general, based on the experience of, say, the Second World War, it can last more than two months.

    – Why has the enemy’s vaunted line of defense not yet worked?

    – The enemy, retreating from the defensive lines that he previously created (Kupyansk, Zaporozhye, Donetsk), is trying to create some intermediate defensive lines. But so far he has not been able to create anything lasting. At best, he made earthen and log structures, which, of course, are not an obstacle for our artillery. For this reason, the enemy cannot create a stable defense. In addition, the enemy now has an acute shortage of equipment and, most importantly, manpower. This lack of soldiers does not allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to create the necessary defensive density that would delay the advance of our troops.
