Arsenal have a keen interest in RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesco and are considering a move for the Slovenian international in this summer's transfer window.

Telegraph Sport understands rival suitors believe ” Arsenal are now in an advantageous position to sign the 20-year-old should the north London side choose to formalize their interest.

One of Arsenal's main summer priorities is to strengthen their front line and Sesco, a 6ft 5in centre-forward, will add another attacking option to Mikel Arteta.

Cesco previously spent four years at Red Bull Salzburg, previously than to join the team. RB Leipzig in 2023. Regarded as a teenage prodigy at the start of his career, he has scored 13 goals in 30 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Cesco has shown impressive form in recent weeks. , scoring in each of their last six matches. On the international stage, he scored 11 goals in 28 matches for Slovenia.

Sesko's escape clause was previously worth around £43 million, according to German reports. However, earlier this month Sky Germany reported that as a result of his strong performances the figure had increased and could now rise to £64 million.

Sesco, who turns 21 later this month, will be a long-term signing for Arsenal with potential for improvement and growth at the club.

The success of using Kai Havertz as a striker in the second half of the season has reduced the club's need to bring in a ready, experienced striker.

Manchester United had previously expressed an interest in Cesco and it was reported in Europe that Milan were also interested in signing a striker. Telegraph Sport reported in March that Sesco was also among Chelsea's targets.

In an interview with Telegraph Sport earlier this season, Sesco said “it would be nice” to play in the Premier League.

< p>Cesco's agent Elvis Basanovic recently posted photos of himself at Arsenal's matches against Chelsea and Manchester United. However, it is not unusual for high-profile agents to attend high-profile Premier League games.

As Telegraph Sport reported earlier this season, Arsenal were also among the clubs eyeing Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee. Sporting's Victor Giokeres is another striker they have been linked with.

Arsenal's summer spending power will be influenced by the amount of money they can make by selling their fringe players. Players such as Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe, Kieran Tierney, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Reiss Nelson could leave if suitable offers come in.

Arsenal will commit around £30m to development signing of goalkeeper David Rai, whose loan move from Brentford will become a permanent transfer. They also seek to strengthen their defenses. As Telegraph Sport reported earlier this season, Arsenal are big fans of Ajax teenager Jorrell Hato.
