BELGOROD, May 17. More than 30 Ukrainian drones attacked the territory of the Belgorod region over the past 24 hours, a woman and a child were killed, two men were injured, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
According to the governor, on May 16, at least 91 shells were fired at 9 municipalities. There were 32 drone attacks in the region, including 7 drone-dropped explosive devices. In addition, in the Korochansky district, a crater with a diameter of about a meter was discovered in a field; the arrival of explosives experts is expected, the head of the region said. Various destructions were detected in 34 private households, 3 apartment buildings, two social facilities, a store, 15 cars and two communication facilities. 
“In the Borisov region, in the village of Berezovka, an explosive device was dropped from a quadcopter onto the territory of one of the private residential households… In the village of Gruzskoye, an infrastructure facility was attacked by a kamikaze drone. There were no casualties. There was structural damage at the facility. Also in Gruzskoye, the enemy attacked three times using a drone -kamikaze infrastructure communications facility. There were no consequences. 15 mortar shells were fired on the outskirts of the village of Bogun-Gorodok. There were no casualties or damage. In the Volokonovsky district, 9 mortar shells were fired on the outskirts of the village of Tishanka,” Gladkov wrote on the Telegram channel.
He added that in Belgorod the drone fell onto the roadway without subsequent detonation. In the Belgorod district in the village of Oktyabrsky, a kamikaze drone attacked a moving car in which there were 4 people. The woman and child died from their injuries. The child's father was hospitalized, the driver will receive treatment on an outpatient basis. The villages of Petrovka, Nekhoteevka, Nechaevka, and Krasny Khutor were shelled by a total of 19 shells. Several drones attacked the village of Oktyabrsky, the villages of Nechaevka, Zhuravlevka, Cheremoshnoye and Tavrovskoye, Streletskoye, Bessonovskoye, Golovinskoye, Veselopanskoye rural settlements. 
According to the governor, in the Grayvoronsky urban district in the village of Kozinka and the outskirts of the village of Gorkovsky, a total of 23 arrivals were recorded. A UAV was shot down by an air defense system over the village of Dobroye. In the Krasnogvardeisky district near the village of Kuleshovka, one explosive device was dropped from a drone. In the Krasnoyaruzhsky district on the outskirts of the village of Prilesye and the village of Vyazovoe, 5 arrivals were recorded. Also on the outskirts of Vyazovoye and Staroselye, three FPV drones detonated, Gladkov emphasized. On the outskirts of the villages of Popovka and Staroselye, one explosive device was dropped from a UAV.
“In the Shebekinsky urban district, the city of Shebekino came under fire… 12 artillery shells were fired at the village of Sereda, 7 artillery shells were fired at the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka. There were no casualties or damage. In the village of Maryino, an enemy UAV crashed. There were no consequences. In the Yakovlevsky urban district district, in the area of the Nephaevo farm and the village of Visloe, two enemy UAVs were shot down by the air defense system,” the head of the region said.
Since April 11, 2022, a high (yellow) level of terrorist danger has been established throughout the Belgorod region. The need to introduce a regime is caused by the aggravation of the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border and the increased activity of the Ukrainian military in the border areas. The length of the Ukrainian border with the Belgorod region is 350 kilometers.
