Nissan X-Trail: improvements and special version instead of restyling

In Nissan’s homeland, the crossover’s equipment was improved and a special package was added dedicated to the company’s 90th anniversary. All the equipment is the same.

The American Nissan Rogue underwent a full restyling last year. But his brother with the global name X-Trail was replaced a generation later, so he is not yet entitled to a new design. Nevertheless, the company decided to invigorate the demand for the “global” SUV. Thus, the off-road Nissan X-Trail N-Trek recently appeared in Australia and Europe. Well, now the crossover has been brought to the new model year in the brand’s native Japan.

The local Nissan X-Trail has had its equipment revised. From now on, all versions have all-round cameras and a “smart” interior mirror (the image from the cameras is displayed on it). The multimedia system has also been improved, 19-inch wheels are now available for the “medium” version, and the top-end trim has new interior trim options. As before, the Japanese can choose the X-Trail Autech with a “sport” design or the “off-road” modification X-Tremer (which is almost the same as the N-Trek).

The crossover also received a new special 90th Anniversary package in Japan, dedicated to Nissan’s anniversary. The features of this X-Trail are a copper-colored V-shaped insert at the front (instead of chrome), the roof rails are painted the same color, plus there are copper stripes on the black mirror housings. In addition, the special version received black 18-inch wheels of the original design. The body color includes nine options, three of which are two-tone (with a black roof). Finally, for an additional fee you can order stickers on the hood and tailgate.

The reform techniques were not affected. In the home market, the Nissan X-Trail comes exclusively as a hybrid with the proprietary e-Power system: the gasoline engine is not connected to the wheels, it works only as an electricity generator, and the front wheels are driven by an electric motor. The installation includes a 1.5 VC-Turbo petrol turbo engine (144 hp) with a variable compression ratio and an electric motor with a power of 204 hp. There are also all-wheel drive versions — with a separate electric motor on the rear axle (136 hp).

Sales of the Nissan X-Trail of the new model year will start in June, but prices have already been announced: the standard crossover costs from 3,601,400 yen (about 2,101,000 rubles at the current exchange rate), the special version of the 90th Anniversary will cost at least 4,043,600 yen (about 2,359,000 rubles).
