Starmer is just 'Blair without the talent,' says Farage

< p>Sir Keir and Sir Tony Blair have drawn comparisons after the New Labor Party-style promise card was released on Thursday to attract centrist voters.

He has been challenged by claims he was trying to emulate the former prime minister to the minister sir. Keir insisted he was not a “copycat” of Sir Tony.

But Mr Farage, Reform's honorary life president, said the similarities were clear, down to the “identical” style, although without ” charisma.” »an integral part of the Sir Tony brand.

He told GB News: “Well, of course he's like Tony Blair. He imitates Tony Blair in absolutely every way. It was Blair who came up with the five-point bail card in 1997.

“Today Starmer walks across the stage exactly as Blair would have done. Did you notice the shirt? A folded shirt? It's absolutely identical.

“Look, there's an argument that if you find a winning formula, you'll keep using it, but I'm just laying it out for you guys. This is Blair without flair. It's practically a charisma-free zone.”

Speaking on GB News, Nigel Farage said the similarities between the two politicians were clear

Speaking in Essex on Thursday to launch a general Labour's election campaign, Sir Keir attempted to portray voting for Labor as the only way to bring about “change”.

The event featured the unveiling of a new six-point pledge card, outlining the promises at the heart of Labour's election campaign – what Sir Keir called “the first steps towards change”.

In short in form they are as follows: “Ensure economic stability”; “Reduce NHS waiting times”; “Creation of a new border security command”; “Create Great British Energy”; “Combating antisocial behavior”; and “Recruit 6,500 new teachers.”

The idea of a so-called “bail card” was first floated by Sir Tony in the run-up to New Labour's landslide election victory in 1997, with the aim of effectively communicating its core policies.

During Thursday's event, Sir Keir spoke of “changed Labour,” which had echoes of Sir Tony’s “New Labour.” The criminal complaint also focused on anti-social behavior, an area that Sir Tony championed with the introduction of ASBOs – or anti-social behavior orders.

The Telegraph asked the Labor leader how he reacted to the accusation that he was a “Blair wannabe”, a claim that has sometimes been leveled at him on the left by his supporters . party.

Sir Keir said: “The first thing I would say about Tony Blair, and this is more important than whether he took off his tie, is that he won three elections in a row.”

And what Blair did in 1997 is what [Harold] Wilson did in 1964 and [Clement] Attlee did in 1945, which was to take the Labor Party out of opposition to power. And what they have in common is the ability to look into the future and persuade people to take that journey towards a changed future.”

Sir Keir joked about how people often try to compare him to Labor Party leaders of the past, saying, that he does not have a secret tattoo of either of them and that he is his own man.

He added: “In that sense there are similarities because I do think you have to look into the future, you have to understand the problems… but it's not an imitation because it's now 27 years after 1997. The problems we face now are not the same as those faced by Tony Blair.”
