MOSCOW, May 16. On Thursday, the IV Moscow Interior and Design Week opened at Manezh. On the first day of the exhibition, there was a show for a professional audience, speeches by world design experts and pitches of promising projects, and queues formed at the entrance, reports the press service of the organizers.
This year the exhibition began with a new format – a show for design industry professionals. Representatives of companies and individual entrepreneurs were able to study new offers from manufacturers in a calm atmosphere, exchange contacts and enter into cooperation agreements.
By the end of the closed show, queues of visitors had gathered outside the Manege, waiting for the moment when the exhibition would open to a wider audience. Starting from 15:00, the exhibition space of the Moscow Interior and Design Week was filled with visitors and discussions of new products.
This year's business program was replenished with leading world experts. Designer Kavita Chaudary spoke about the features of business in a creative environment, what development vectors and resources are available, and how to scale your brand through socially significant projects. 
“I really liked Moscow, it has truly unique architecture, I have long wanted to come to Russia. The exhibition brought together unique solutions from Russian designers, it is very interesting to watch the progress of design ideas. We have been working in Russia for many years, now this market is in the top 10 number of our clients, that’s why we decided to open a representative office here, and our store in Samara is already 5 years old,” said Chaudary.
Architects of modern projects also took part in the exhibition sessions. Former head of Zaha Hadid Architects in the Middle East, founder of Tariq Khayyat Design Partners (TKDP) Tariq Khayyat spoke about the most successful projects. And the chief architect of Akon City, Hussein Bakri, who is designing a city of the future in Senegal in the image of Wakanda, outlined modern trends in urban design.
For Russian manufacturers, the main business event of the first day of the exhibition was the arrival of international buyers and a B2B session with importers from India. Advisor on International Relations of the Trade Development Council of India Sunil Dhami outlined the importance of the event for Indian manufacturers and offered cooperation to Russian colleagues. 
“India is the most populous country in the world, and this, of course, is a big plus for entrepreneurs. High demand provides many opportunities for business development in India. I invite furniture manufacturers from Russia to participate in Indian clusters,” said an expert from India.
Leading Russian experts and young designers also took part in the business program. As part of one of the sessions, there was a presentation of projects in the field of object, industrial and interior design, where new projects from novice designers were shown. The session was moderated by Politecnico di Milano graduate, designer, program director of the Moscow Interior and Design Week Vera Zhazhina. Also, the director of the Moscow Design Museum, Alexandra Sankova, held a session on “Cultural Code”. Experts discussed the preservation of traditional Russian features in modern design, heritage and new ideas for the development of traditional design in Russia.
There are three more days of the exhibition ahead, where visitors will find a business program, stands with products from hundreds of manufacturers with the opportunity to buy the item they like, an immersive show, a crash test area, art objects and much more.
