UAC explained the postponement of deliveries of Russian aircraft

MOSCOW, May 18. The postponement of deliveries of Russian aircraft is due to the need to conduct a full program of flight tests of domestic systems and assemblies to ensure the safety of passengers, reported the press service of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
On Friday, the Cabinet of Ministers updated the delivery dates for domestic civil aircraft as part of a comprehensive program for the development of the aviation industry until 2030. In particular, the transfer of import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft was officially postponed from 2023 to 2026, MS-21 – from 2024 to 2025, Il-114 – from 2024 to 2026, Ladoga – from 2025 to 2028 , “Baikal” – from 2024 to 2025. The total number of deliveries of civil aircraft until 2030 decreased from 1,081 to 994 units.

“The postponement is due to the need to conduct a full-fledged flight testing program of domestic systems and assemblies to ensure passenger safety. At the same time, the updated CPGA (comprehensive program of civil aviation – editor's note) provides for a ramp-up delivery schedule, which will leave the total number of MC-21, SJ aircraft unchanged -100, as well as Tu-214, planned for delivery before 2030,” the UAC emphasized.

Regarding the Il-114, the press service clarified that now the total volume of their deliveries until 2030 is 51 aircraft (initially planned 70). At the same time, the need for them is quite great, so from 2027 and further after 2030 it is planned to produce 12 such aircraft annually.
“The delivery schedule has been adjusted taking into account the need to ensure a short lag between the receipt of approval documents and the transfer of aircraft to customers. The process of certification and serial assembly is “paralleled”. A backlog of aircraft has already been formed. In particular, 16 Superjets and 12 MC-21 are in varying stages readiness and will be equipped with Russian systems as they become available. We hope that after the completion of the tests, we will ensure a follow-up schedule for the production and delivery of aircraft in order to generally implement the replenishment of the fleet by 2030,” the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation commented on the shift in deadlines.
“The volume of deliveries of regional aircraft has been clarified. Their change is also related to the progress of import substitution work, as well as the replacement of L-410 with Russian-Belarusian LMS-192 Osvey,” the ministry added.
