MOSCOW, May 17.The traveling photo exhibition “Russian Spring. Lugansk. 2014: Dates, people, events”, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of one of the significant historical events, opened in Lugansk, according to a press release from the organizers.
As noted, the historical photo exhibition, which opened in Lugansk Museum of Local Lore, dedicated to the participants and events of the Russian Spring.
“”This exhibition will become a symbol of the rebellion and fortitude of the people of Donbass, who stood up for the defense of historical justice. The photographs presented at the exhibition are clear evidence of the unity of the Russian people,” said Hero of the LPR, Chairman of the Public Chamber of the LPR, the regional branch of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia LPR Alexey Karyakin, whose words are quoted in the message.
According to him, the idea of the exhibition belongs to the direct participants of those events who appear both in the frame and are the authors of some photographs.
“We can confidently state that after the start of the special military operation, interest in the topic of popular confrontation in the Donbass has grown significantly, and we must not allow us to forget about how the Russian Spring began in the south-east of Ukraine,” Karyakin noted.
As part of the opening of the photo exhibition, participants in the 2014 events spoke to the guests, and thematic booklets and St. George ribbons were distributed as a symbol of the Russian Spring in Donbass.
“The footage collected in this exhibition captured the main stages of the formation of popular resistance to the power of the Kyiv nationalists and the creation of the Lugansk People's Republic. It is important to preserve and pass on the memory of the feat of the people of Donbass, who stood up to defend their land, to future generations. Russian Spring – one of the most significant pages in the history of not only Donbass, but also Russia as a whole,” said Hero of Russia, General Director of the NGO “Assembly of the Peoples of Russia” Alexander Darkovich, whose words are quoted in the message.
The photo exhibition was developed by the Public Chamber of the LPR, the regional branch of the NGO “Assembly of the Peoples of Russia” with the support of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, FADN of Russia, the media group “Russia Today”.
