    A resident of Kirov injured a passerby with a screwdriver

    NIZHNY NOVGOROD, May 20. A resident of Kirov hit a passerby several times with a screwdriver, the man is in the hospital, the attacker has been detained, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
    Information that a wounded man was found on Lenin Street was received by the police from passers-by.
    “As it turned out, at a public transport stop, the victim had a conflict with an unknown man, during which he was struck multiple times with a screwdriver. After which the attacker fled. Medical workers diagnosed the victim with stab and penetrating wounds,” it says in the message.

    Police officers detained the suspect – he turned out to be a 39-year-old Kirov resident who was transporting seedlings to his dacha. The crime weapon was confiscated from him. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, committed with the use of objects used as weapons). The man was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention.
