MOSCOW, May 19, Svetlana Bonopartova. Moscow “Spartak” , having decided to part with defender Georgiy Dzhikia, wants to open a new page in history, said the acting head coach of the capital’s football club, Vladimir Slishkovich.
Earlier, Spartak announced that Dzhikia would leave the club at the end of the season.
“”This is the club's decision,” Sliskovic told reporters. “Such moments are sad. He was a captain, an important player for the dressing room. But he is not the first and not the last player to leave this team, because the club wants to start history with new page. I'm not afraid for his future, I think he will play as well in the new team as he did here. See you later.”
On Sunday, Dzhikia appeared in the starting lineup as captain for Spartak's last home match of the season. The Red-Whites defeated Rubin Kazan – 3:1.
