THE HAGUE, May 20. The Netherlands will soon provide Ukraine with YPR infantry fighting vehicles, the country's Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren said on Monday.
““The Netherlands will soon provide the Ukrainian armed forces with YPR infantry fighting vehicles with remote-controlled combat modules at Zelensky’s request,” Ollongren wrote on the social network.
As noted on the website of the Kingdom's Ministry of Defense, the Netherlands has already supplied Kyiv with a total of 207 YPR infantry fighting vehicles of various types.
Since the beginning of the Russian special operation, the Netherlands has already supplied Ukraine with 60 T-72 tanks, about 100 Leopard 1 tanks together with Denmark and Germany, 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks together with Denmark, eight PzH2000 artillery mounts, two anti-aircraft missile systems Patriot complex, as well as missiles, mortars, rifles, machine guns and various types of ammunition.
At the end of December, the Dutch authorities announced the decision to prepare the first 18 F-16 fighters for delivery to Ukraine. The Hague noted that they expect to send the first fighters to Kyiv in 2024.
The total amount of military assistance that the Netherlands provided to Ukraine in 2023 amounted to 1.6 billion euros.
