The exterior design of the popular passenger car has been tweaked. In its main market, the restyled model will be available with the same two-liter naturally aspirated engine, as well as with a hybrid setup.
The current eleventh generation Honda Civic sedan and hatchback debuted in production form in 2021. The American division of the brand (the States is the main market for Civic) distributed the first images of the restyled model at the beginning of this year. Well, now the refreshed standard passenger cars have been almost completely declassified. Let us remind you that the family also includes the “warmed-up” four-door Civic Si and the hot hatch Civic Type R, they will be updated later. By the way, in the USA the model is doing well with sales: in 2023, over 200,300 units were sold (+50%), the result of the four months of this year is 83,972 units. (+36%).

The main technical update of the American Honda Civic is the appearance of a hybrid modification (it is the hybrids that are captured in the company photos). Let us note that the gas-electric “eleventh” Civic has been available in other countries for a long time, and in some places (for example, in Europe) this is the only model they sell. Be that as it may, the installation of the hybrid sedan and hatchback intended for the States included an aspirated 2.0 operating on the economical Atkinson cycle and a pair of electric motors (one of them operates in generator mode). Total output – 203 hp. and 315 Nm. Other characteristics of the Civic Hybrid have not yet been disclosed, while Honda stated that the hybrids have also had their suspension retuned. />1/3

Customers will also be offered purely petrol restyled cars with the same aspirated 2.0 (160 hp, 187 Nm) in combination with a CVT. But the 1.5 turbo-four (183 hp, 240 Nm) was retired, and the mechanics were also not mentioned in the release. However, the 1.5-liter turbo engine and 6-speed manual gearbox could have been left in the Honda Civic Si (in the pre-reform sedan, the engine produces 203 hp and 260 Nm).

As for the design, the Civic has a new and slightly more aggressive front bumper, and there are no longer separate foglights. The radiator grille has become larger, in addition, it has a honeycomb pattern. The rear bumper was also retouched. The palette of body colors has been expanded, plus new wheels are provided for the most expensive version of the Sport Touring Hybrid.

There are much fewer new things in the interior. Thus, USB-C connectors have appeared in the front, and a black and gray finish is available for hybrids. Well, the expensive versions also have a multimedia system with Google services, although the top-end tablet has not become larger (9 inches, simpler versions have a 7-inch touchscreen). All versions have the Honda Sensing complex, which includes adaptive cruise control, auto braking and lane keeping systems. “Rich” configurations also include an electric sunroof, a blind spot monitoring system, heated seats, climate control and wireless charging for a smartphone.
The restyled Honda Civic sedan will reach American dealers in June, the hatchback will hit the market a little later. The company believes that hybrid versions will account for approximately 40% of sales. No prices yet. The pre-reform four-door now costs from $23,950, the hatch – from $24,950 (all prices exclude taxes and delivery).
