MOSCOW, May 23. The first racket of Russia Daniil Medvedev, according to Thursday's draw in Paris, kicks off the French Open with a match against Germany's Dominik Koepfer.
Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam tournament of the season, begins in Paris on May 26. Medvedev, ranked fifth in the rankings of the Association of Tennis Professionals, received the fifth seed.
Russian Andrei Rublev, seeded sixth, will compete with Japanese Taro Daniel at the start of the tournament.
Serbian Novak Djokovic, world number one, will face Frenchman Pierre-Huguer Herbert in the opening match. Germany's Alexander Zverev (4th seed) will play 14-time tournament champion Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
