MOSCOW, May 25. Monaco Football Club at its The official website announced the departure of team captain and striker Wissam Ben Yedder due to the expiration of his contract.
The forward has been playing for Monaco since the summer of 2019, his agreement with the club was valid until June 2024. The 33-year-old Frenchman was the team captain.
“Everyone knows the quality of Wissam – an exceptional striker with an incredible sense of play and purpose. What he has done on the pitch over these five seasons will remain in the history of the club. We wish him all the best for the future,” said the Monaco CEO ” Thiago Scuro.
In total, Ben Yedder played 201 matches for Monaco and scored 118 goals. He ranks second on the list of top scorers in the club's history, behind Delio Onnis (223 goals). He also has 19 matches and three goals for the French national team.
