Avito Auto experts analyzed data on supply, demand and prices for minivans from the beginning of March to the present. It turned out that among used cars, the Japanese are in the lead in demand, and among new ones — representatives of the South Korean automobile industry.
New minivans
Demand for new minivans grew by 26.1% year-on-year. The leader in terms of share in demand was the Hyundai brand: it accounted for 41.2% of demand in the spring. In second place in this indicator is the Chinese brand GAC, which received 16.2%. Rounding out the top three is another “Chinese” – LiXiang with 14.2%. Also in the top 5 were Mercedes-Benz (12.4%) and Volkswagen (6.9%).
Both Chinese brands – GAC and LiXiang – show noticeable positive dynamics in demand, since a year earlier there was practically no demand for them. Only Mercedes-Benz was able to compete with them in this parameter year-on-year, the demand for which increased by 35.4%.
The average price of a new minivan in the spring was 8,690,000 rubles. The highest average price1 among the top 5 brands in terms of demand was Mercedes-Benz: it amounted to 18,180,000 rubles. GAC cars were cheaper than others — 6,300,000 rubles, and year on year the average price1 for minivans of this brand fell by 25.8%.
Among the models, the leader in demand was the Hyundai Staria introduced in 2021 with 21%, the average price1 of which is 8,490,000 rubles.

In second place in demand is the Chinese minivan with an unusual exterior GAC M8: its share accounted for 17.5% of demand. It also became the most budget car among the leaders — 6,300,000 rubles.
On the third line of the rating is a minivan with an aerodynamic body shape unlike the classic LiXiang Mega (14.2%). Its average price1 is 12,200,000 rubles.

The number of advertisements in this segment increased by 50.9% year-on-year . At the same time, the leader this spring was the Hyundai brand, whose share is 17.7%. In second place is GAC, which is only slightly behind first place with 16.6%. In third place is Mercedes-Benz with 8.4%. The leader in terms of supply among the models was the GAC M8 (16.5%).
In Moscow and the Moscow region, a more serious increase in demand for minivans was recorded than the national average: this figure grew by 74.7% year-on-year. The leader in terms of share in demand was the LiXiang brand (22.7%), followed by Hyundai (18.8%) and Mercedes-Benz (17.9%). The top 3 models in demand are LiXiang Mega, Mercedes-Benz V-Class and Hyundai Staria.
In St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, Hyundai is in the lead by a large margin from its competitors (62.1% of demand), Kia is in second place with 15.8% and GAC with 14.5%. The top 3 models included Hyundai Staria, Kia Carnival and GACM8.
Used minivans
In the Russian Federation as a whole, the leader in the share of demand among used minivans was the Toyota brand: on its the share accounted for 16.6% of demand. In second place is Honda with 10.5%, in third place is Volkswagen with 10.1%. Also in the top 5 were Hyundai (8.5%) and Nissan (7%).
The average price of 1 minivan with mileage was 1,200,000 rubles. The most budget-friendly in the top five were Nissan cars (960,000 rubles), and the most expensive were Hyundai (2,980,000 rubles).
Among the models, the leader in demand was the Opel Zafira with a share of 4.6%. In second place is Hyundai Grand Starex (3.5%), in third is Honda Stepwgn (3.4%).

The supply of used minivans in Russia has remained virtually unchanged year on year. The leader in the dynamics of the number of advertisements among brands was Honda (growth — 25% year-on-year), and among models — Honda Stepwgn (+44.0%).

In Moscow and the Moscow region, the leaders in demand in this segment were Volkswagen (12.3%), Hyundai (11.2%) and Opel (9.5%). Among the models, the top 3 included Opel Zafira (8.2%), Hyundai Grand Starex (5.9%) and Kia Carnival (4.8%).
In St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, users of the Avito Auto platform were interested in German brands. Volkswagen took first place in demand with 13.2%. Opel was second (10.2%), and third was Mercedes-Benz (8.8%). The top 3 models in demand included the Opel Zafira (6.5%), Mercedes-Benz Vito (4.8%) and Volkswagen Multivan (3.3%).
