MOSCOW, May 27. Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya defeated Frenchwoman Clara Burel in the first round of the French Open, which takes place on clay courts in Paris.
The meeting ended with a score of 7:6 (7:3), 7:5 in favor of the Russian, seeded 23rd at the tournament. The tennis players spent 2 hours and 5 minutes on the court.
On Sunday, world number two Jannik Sinner confirmed that he is in a relationship with a Russian tennis player. The Italian watched Kalinskaya from the stands; the day before, Kalinskaya supported Sinner in his first round match.
In the second round of the second Grand Slam tournament of the season, Kalinskaya will play with the winner of the match between Canadian Bianca Andreescu and Spanish Sara Sorribes-Tormo.
