The badge engineering “novelty” will soon go on sale in Belarus; production at the plant in Zhodino has already started.
The first-born of the young Belarusian brand Belgee was the X50 crossover, which rolled off the assembly line last year. This model is a twin of the pre-reform Geely Coolray, which was previously produced at the same plant in Zhodino. Now the Belgee SUV is also present on the Russian market; it appeared at dealers last fall. Let us note that “X fiftieth” allowed the brand to enter the list of the most popular in the Russian Federation based on the results of April.

As we reported at the beginning of this year, the Belgee brand is going to expand its model range: apparently, the company has already received licenses from Geely to produce two more cars under its own nameplate. One of them was the Belgee X70: it is known that this index received the Geely Atlas Pro engineering badge. According to the publication av.by, the production of the “donor” has already been completed.

Now the second Belgee model has begun to roll off the assembly line, which got its name from the Proton X70: under it the Geely Atlas Pro crossover is produced in Malaysia (similarly situations with the Belgee X50 and Proton X50, which is a local slightly modified “copy” of Coolray). Let us remind you that Proton shares are owned by the Chinese holding company Gili.

The “stuffing” of the Belgee X70 came from a “donor”. The base model for the model is a 177-horsepower 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine, which is paired with either a seven-speed DCT preselective robot with two wet clutches, or with a six-speed automatic transmission (available in a front-wheel drive version). The car is also offered with an all-wheel drive system with an electronically controlled clutch; this crossover has four driving modes for different operating conditions (Eco, Comfort, Sport and Offroad).
The X70 is also equipped with a mild hybrid powertrain, which is based on the same 1.5-liter motor working in tandem with a 48-volt starter-generator and a small lithium-ion battery. At the same time, the hybrid “appendage” works as part of the start-stop system and produces up to 50 Nm of additional torque, helping in the first seconds of acceleration.

The SUV of the Belarusian brand is equipped with LED optics, 18-inch alloy wheels, illuminated exit area when opening doors, as well as an automatic high beam control system. The top version also has a panoramic roof with an electric sunroof and anti-pinch function, keyless entry and push-button engine start.

The model also has six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a set of electronic driver assistants , 360° surround view system, lane keeping and lane departure warning functions. There is also a road sign recognition system, a tire pressure sensor, driver condition monitoring, etc.
According to the publication, the price of the Belgee X70 remains the same as that of the Geely Atlas Pro. In Belarus, purchasing the launch version of a Chinese crossover currently costs 77,640 local rubles (equivalent to approximately 2.2 million Russian rubles at the current exchange rate). And for the mild hybrid version they ask for at least 85,560 Belarusian rubles (about 2.4 million rubles). The top version costs 92,040 Belarusian rubles (about 2.6 million rubles). Note that the recommended retail price of Geely Atlas Pro in the Russian Federation now varies in the range from 2,763,990 to 3,393,990 rubles.
