Hybrid four-doors belong to different families. The machines have a rather impressive list of equipment, which is standard for the “Chinese”, as well as an attractive price list.
BYD simultaneously launched sales of two new sedans in its native China — Seal 06 and Qin L. The first four-door is considered a completely new model. The second is positioned as the Qin of the next, already third generation: as usual, this sedan received the prefix because its predecessor remained in service (the second generation now bears the “surname” Plus). Well, in fact, we have two varieties of the same car. It’s just that Seal 06 belongs to the Ocean family, and Qin L is part of the Dynasty line.

Be that as it may, sedans have different exterior designs. Features of BYD Seal 06 are a smooth “nose”, black inserts on the front bumper, L-shaped LED running lights, reverse door handles and “horseshoes” in the rear lights. The new BYD Qin L has a more impressive grille with chrome “strokes” and standard handles, plus it has lights with an interlocking pattern.

The dimensions, except for the width, are the same: length – 4830 mm, height – 1495 mm, distance between the axles – 2790 mm. The width of BYD Qin L is 1900 mm, BYD Seal 06 is 1875 mm. Thus, in terms of length and wheelbase size, the “Chinese” are only slightly inferior to the standard local Toyota Camry of the new generation. The trunk volume is indicated only for Seal 06 — 550 liters. However, Qin L probably has a similar indicator.

Inside – separate screens for BYD instrumentation and multimedia systems, the second tablet can be rotated 90 degrees. Moreover, each of the sedans has its own front panel, steering wheel, central tunnel, transmission selector and even door cards. An additional feature of Seal 06 is the circle on the tunnel in which the keys are placed.

The models are offered in five almost identical trim levels. The cheapest sedans have 16-inch wheels, LED optics, a 10.1-inch diagonal central touchscreen, a rear view camera, single-zone climate control and cruise control. Starting from the second version, 17-inch wheels, all-round cameras, dual-zone climate control, and multimedia with a 12.8-inch diagonal touchscreen appear. Top versions have 18-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise, lane keeping systems and blind spot monitoring.

BYD Seal 06 and Qin L are rechargeable hybrids with the same technology . The latest generation DM-i installation includes a 1.5 naturally aspirated petrol engine (101 hp) and an electric motor. In the initial and next oldest versions, the electric motor produces 163 hp. Such sedans are equipped with a battery with a capacity of 10.8 kWh; on electric power alone they are capable of traveling 80 km on the Chinese CLTC cycle. The remaining options have an electric motor with a power of 218 hp. and a battery with a capacity of 15.87 kWh, an electric range of 120 km.

The price list is the same for both four-doors: for BYD Seal 06 and Qin L are asking for 99,800 – 139,800 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 1.2 million – 1.7 million rubles at the current rate. Most likely, sedans will subsequently appear in other markets.
