MOSCOW, May 28. Russia is going through a most difficult period in history; it is impossible to adequately respond to challenges without the participation of the country’s scientists, said Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council, Chairman of United Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
“Today, when Russia is going through the most difficult period of its history, our expectations, for obvious reasons, from domestic science are just as high. It is impossible to adequately respond to all the challenges that our country faces without a high-quality expert basis, without active participation of scientists in the life of the country, without developing and examining key decisions made by the state,” he said, speaking at a general meeting of members of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
He added that it is precisely in this logic that the role played by the Russian Academy of Sciences today is built.
