Students of specialized universities got acquainted with projects for the implementation of artificial intelligence and unmanned technologies on the railway and in cars as part of the scientific and practical conference «Artificial Intelligence in the Road Industry — TRANS AI 2024″, reports the Telematics concern, which organized the event together with JSC » NIIAS» and TransTeleCom Company.
The conference participants were students from the country's leading universities: Moscow State University. M.Yu. Lomonosov, MSTU im. N.E. Bauman, MIIT, MADI, DonSU, RTU MIREA, NRNU MEPhI, KGSAU and others. Students visited the train control center, took a demonstration ride on an unmanned train along the Moscow Central Circle, and also toured the production site of the Evocargo company, specializing in the field of electric transport, and evaluated an autonomous electric truck in action, the report says.
Representatives of JSC NIIAS told students not only about the introduction of artificial intelligence and unmanned technologies, but also during a demonstration ride on an unmanned train along the Moscow Central Circle showed how technical vision systems work, detecting obstacles on the way, deviant behavior and other already implemented technologies . They were able to see the operation of unmanned systems during emergency braking, and also sat behind the driver’s seat and saw with their own eyes that the movement is controlled without human intervention, the press service said.
During the excursion At the Evocargo production site, participants were shown the work of the production workshop of an autonomous electric truck and the Fleet Management Center. The students toured the production site where the cars are assembled. After inspecting the production, there was a demonstration of the operation of an autonomous truck and the Fleet Control Center.
